I've recently been invaded with Russian spambots (seriously, 3 different ones, commenting on multiple entries, just today). Therefore, I've changed my comment settings so that only friends can comment on my journal. Leaving this entry public to say: if you need to contact me for some reason and we are not LJ friends, please feel free to send me a message. Thanks!

Signal boosting from [info]deza:

Jack the cat is stuck in Atlanta! Due to my medical issues, I can't go pick up our kitty boy from his very patient foster mom. My kids are asking on a regular basis when Jack is coming home.

If you (or anyone you know) is travelling from ATL to anywhere in the eastern NC area, including up I-95, and wouldn't mind a feline stowaway, please let me know. I'm willing to pitch in on gas costs. We miss our kitty!

Her original post is here. If you are willing to help, please let her know! :)

Writer's Block: Who's your BFF?

Who is your oldest friend (i.e., the friend you have known the longest)? How often do you see or talk to each other? Do your close friends tend to stay the same year after year or change over time?

Without a doubt [info]ltlbird is my oldest friend. She and I have known each other since a memorable episode during 7th grade registration, and I hate to think of how long ago that was now. :) We don't see each other nearly as often as I'd like, but I would estimate we manage at least once a year or so (maybe a little less often) and we "talk" most often via comments to each other either here or on Facebook.

I have had the same relatively small group of close friends for a while now. I tend to have sort of "infatuation" type friendships with people at times, where we'll be really close for a while and then it sort of fizzles out and we rarely talk at all, but my core friend group doesn't change much, and I'm grateful for every one of them. <3

Do you believe in monogamy?

View 506 Answers

Sure, of course I "believe in" monogamy. Monogamy works best for some people, poly works best for some people. What doesn't work, ever, is being dishonest with your partner(s). As [info]zen_sakka said in her response, the most important thing is HONESTY. Far be it from me to say that what works best for me is the right thing for others.

My personal path has veered off in a direction I wouldn't have imagined it to take, and right now I'm perfectly happy being monogamous--but the poly side of my life hasn't been completely closed off, it's just buried a little. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of something happening in the future, but it would have to be a very special situation, that's for sure. I've been burned way too many times at this point. :(

Ok, you people...
