Do you believe in monogamy?

View other answers

Sure, of course I "believe in" monogamy. Monogamy works best for some people, poly works best for some people. What doesn't work, ever, is being dishonest with your partner(s). As [info]that_sakka_girl said in her response, the most important thing is HONESTY. Far be it from me to say that what works best for me is the right thing for others.

My personal path has veered off in a direction I wouldn't have imagined it to take, and right now I'm perfectly happy being monogamous--but the poly side of my life hasn't been completely closed off, it's just buried a little. I wouldn't rule out the possibility of something happening in the future, but it would have to be a very special situation, that's for sure. I've been burned way too many times at this point. :(

Does anyone have a good chili recipe that they don't mind sharing? I don't really care if it has meat or not, I wouldn't mind having one of each. I'm looking for something that would freeze well, since I'm the only one in the house that will eat it, and I plan on freezing it in individual servings for my lunches. I'm also looking for something that's not super spicy, as I have a fairly low spice tolerance. (To give you an idea, I find the chili at Wendy's fairly spicy, and wouldn't want anything that was much spicier than that.)

Thanks in advance. :)

Jamie's: Adopt one today!Adopt one today!

I just have one hatchling currently: Adopt one today!

Would anyone like a winter egg? I bred one today (bred my autumn/silver, I was hoping for a silver egg) and I don't so much want it. I'll probably drop it on the abandoned page in a day or two if no one speaks up.

Jamie's names for his dragons are CRACKING ME UP.

The scene: Our house, bathtime. I've asked Jamie to take a bath.

Several minutes later.

Jamie: "Mommy, the hot water ran out in the bathtub really fast!"

Me: *goes to check* Yep, the water coming into the tub is cold. *turns off water* *notices something* "Hey Jamie? The water would probably fill up the bathtub before the hot water runs out if you would put the stopper in."

Jamie: *says nothing*

I leave the room. 15 seconds later I hear the (cold) water running into the tub again.

Me: "Jamie, if you make your bath water cold by running cold water into it, you're still going to have to take a bath."

Jamie: ...... *turns water off*

I'm hoping next time I breed my autumn that I'll get a couple of winter eggs so I can keep one and give Jamie one. :) Also, hoping VERY hard that autumn egg I have is a female. :)

Trying to grow my hatchlings up quick so I can get some more eggs. :) I still want an autumn dragon. All the stuff on the giving tree has rules that you can't have it if you have any dead dragons on your scroll. That stupid hatchling. :P

Happy birthday, N. I can only hope maybe someday you'll see this. I miss your friendship more than I can say.

(Glinda):
I've heard it said
That people come into our lives for a reason
Bringing something we must learn
And we are led
To those who help us most to grow
If we let them
And we help them in return
Well, I don't know if I believe that's true
But I know I'm who I am today
Because I knew you...

Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you
I have been changed for good

(Elphaba):
It well may be
That we will never meet again
In this lifetime
So let me say before we part
So much of me
Is made of what I learned from you
You'll be with me
Like a handprint on my heart
And now whatever way our stories end
I know you have re-written mine
By being my friend...

Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a skybird
In a distant wood
Who can say if I've been changed for the better?
But because I knew you

(Glinda):
Because I knew you

(Both):
I have been changed for good

(Elphaba):
And just to clear the air
I ask forgiveness
For the things I've done you blame me for

(Glinda):
But then, I guess we know
There's blame to share

(Both):
And none of it seems to matter anymore

(Glinda):
Like a comet pulled from orbit
As it passes a sun
Like a stream that meets a boulder
Halfway through the wood

(Elphaba):
Like a ship blown from its mooring
By a wind off the sea
Like a seed dropped by a bird in the wood

(Both):
Who can say if I've been
Changed for the better?
I do believe I have been
Changed for the better

(Glinda):
And because I knew you...

(Elphaba):
Because I knew you...

(Both):
Because I knew you...
I have been changed for good...
